Bette's achievement  40 years ago was highlighted on the groups' Ruby display and the lady herself spoke   before  SRGC president Liz Mills and show secretary Peter Maguire cut the fine cake - Dunfermline's best - several  photographers recorded  this so a snap should soon be posted?

That's terrific, isn't it?  The whole celebration I mean.... not just the cake! Well done to the Northumberland Show and well done Bette, still in support after all this time.

We had a good range of plants on display today (just over 500), in spite of the unreasonably hot weather of late. The range of plants was different though, with the normal pink mass of Primula allionii and hybrids being particularly noticeable by their absence.
It was a great show in spite of worries about which (if any) plants would turn up, and I'd like to thank all those helpers who made my job so much easier. Off to catch up on some sleep now.

Finally the show secretary enjoying  a rest before remembering  to put up another   poster giving  the date for the 2013 show - and then all that is left is to tidy up and go home. Thanks to Peter and his team for another very enjoyable  spring day out in Northumberland.

Thank you for posting all the pictures.

Hexham looks like one of the best supported shows of the year, do you know if any new members were signed up?

Stan, you have had a late night  after a long day and an early start again this morning to bring us this absolutely super show report. A tour de force for which I think we must all thank you.

As Peter hopefully has a restful day after his hectic duties yesterday, I bet he is well pleased with how the show has been covered in these pages.

I hope too that more of the shutter clickers will share their shots of the day as well to make yet more of an online record of this anniversary occasion.

I have just been to the Hexham Show and I didn't even have to leave Aberdeen. 8)

Stan thank you for such a comprehensive set of pictures that made sure that those of us from around the globe who could not make it share in the event.

The only thing we miss are the hugs, laughter and  :-*.

This level of report takes a lot of thought, effort and time and we all appreciate this Stan.

Hi Maggi, I think the people you are refering to are from Harperley Hall Nursery in Co. Durham.  Sorry I don't know their names.

I don't get to a lot of shows, but for me this was one of the best I've been to with relation to the wonderful plants on show, and especially the nursery stalls which were full of colour and VERY tempting plants. A fantastic day - well done to all.

Thanks Christine. They must have had a better time at the show than their appearance suggests... I hear they want to attend the Autumn show too!
