Daphne 'Collinton Crown' (D. x eschmanni x D. petraea) Raised by Cyril Lafong and Exhibited by Robin White. Farrer (I think, or was told but didn't seen the certificate) and a Certificate of Preliminary Commendation.

I think that the mis-named Daphne is the Farrer winner, Cliff.

 I'm rather worried about poor David's batteries running out, too..... none of us getting any younger, I suppose....

My, some cracking plants there. I think you are so lucky with all the natural light that comes into the  show hall there, David.  

Methinks a note will need to be sent to the Joint Rock committee etc ... because I think Cyril's Daphne should be a Colinton with one "l" not two. (It refers to where he lives.)

I emailed Cyril for confirmation : the plant is indeed misnamed , it should be 'Colinton Crown'

That really is a remarkable daphne - how an earth does Robin grow them so well? They are not renowned for being easy in pots. Cyril Lafong must be very proud of such a fine cross, certainly somewhat removed from one of its parents petraea! Spring is really in the air in more ways than one with talk of jump starts and currents! AC or DC?

Primula 'Doris Payne' First in Class 8 for Jean Morris

Super primula... can we be sure that Jean did not embroider the whole thing in 3D ?

Doris Payne was a seedling in 2002 that I named after my mother .I did put on another display of embroidery at the show Jean

Hello Jean, how nice to hear from you, hope you are well?

An interesting point about the primula being one of your raising and named for your Mother... makes it even more special.
So I was right, it is in fact, "one you made earlier" 

And you had time for a needlework exhibit too... what a great support to the show.

It was a lovely display and had the batteries not gone I would have had a picture of it. I hope Jon has one. Lovely Primula too Jean.
