I find it strange that people want to cosset these plants in a greenhouse. Perhaps because they have died under many a person's staging they were given the tag 'difficult to grow'?  They need a good cold winter!

I think you are right Anthony. I always was under the understanding that they were really difficult to grow.
I can certainly give my plants a cold winter as you are well aware of  ;) ;D

I de-potted a multiple growth C. kentuckiense a couple of weeks ago, put it in a no-hole tray for re-potting, got distracted and found it this morning in a pool of water, where it must have been all this time. Didn't look any worse for wear, lovely whitish roots and big buds, not a sign of rot.

I was amazed, but I don't think I'll make a habit of that. It's now in a big pot outside at home with a big label saying "Survivor". I shall keep an eye on it to see if grows OK next year. :( ;D
