I can't believe Mike entered me in section one, I'd never have dared myself.  Wasn't sure either was worthy of a place on the bench really, and I'd been breathing on the scilla to try to get it to start blooming, it was only just coming out when I gave it to Pearl to take for me.

Yes, the Dales love your Aberdeen Show, and isn't it nice the children are showing so much interest, it seems last year when they entered and won, they were hooked so to see their progression this year is wonderful.  I'll see them when they get back ....

and....
Jubilee A...( six pans less tha 17.5cms diam.)

Winner, first time exhibitor, braving Section I :  Tom MacLeish from Breda, Alford.

Second , Stan da Prato, Tranent.

Tom  entered the Jubilee B class in Section II as well.... and won that.... and was awarded the SpecialCash Prize for a first time exhibitor... and promptly gave it back as a club donation...and he brought more Lewisias to decorate the foyer.... and helped to get all the show tables tidied away... not a bad day out for a new exhibitor!!

next......
John Owen from Askival had this unfurling Sauromatum in Sect. 1
one of the Salix reticulata on show

pix of the mini gardens....
Lillian Chapman's garden to the rear, Ian Chapman's to the front.
overall pic
Graham Catlow's  garden, complete with lovely Trillium, which headed my sister in law and mother in law to John Owen's stall to buy some! Graham has such an artistic eye to his composition and plantings.

The planted gardens of the little girls, the Misses Beaton, Mike and Pearl Dale's Aberdeen grand-daughters.
