Hymenocallis 2012
« on: June 25, 2012, 07:45:28 PM »
The Hymenocallis are busting' out all over!  Hymenocallis imperialis is in bloom, as are HH. durangoensis and glauca.  H. guerreroensis has finished blooming.

There is a bit more discussion in my blog at: http://www.shieldsgardens.com/Blogs/Garden/index.html

Sorry, I don't know!  70+ years of allergies and 40 years in chemistry labs pretty much destroyed my sense of smell.

Hymenocallis eucharidifolia is just finished blooming here.  The tepals span a good 6 inches on a medium-size plant.  Leaves are almost fully emerged here.

This small Hymenocallis from Nayarit is probably H. phalangides.  The cup itself is 20 mm across, and the petals are 11 cm tip to tip.
