New Zealand Field Trips - Winter 2012.
« on: July 22, 2012, 09:26:44 AM »
Hi everyone, I took my kids into Lake Tennyson for some mountain biking for the weekend.

It was freezing but beautiful. The roads have been washed out in a few places.

FYI - There will be no access through to the Island Pass for a while as the road has been completely wiped out right up over the bank 6-7 metres high. Massive road construction required. (Hopefully in time for spring flowers!)

Had just enough time to catch this beautiful Astelia nervosa before the kids started on me "no plants today Dad!"
Can't wait for some flowers, look forward to sharing them too.
Cheers.

I can't wait to see more of your posts Doug.

I am sure I am not alone in being fascinated by the NZ flora and beautiful scenery.

We are having an even cooler wetter summer than normal so the thought of seeing the NZ spring flora through our NZ members posts is something to look forward to.
