Petrocosmea

I am looking for other growers of Petrocosmea, this is P. minor. Petrocosmea seem rather hard to buy and would like to swap species with other growers. I have just acquired two very poorly looking plants from Harrogate flower show and I am overcome by their beauty.

Hello Frits

I know there are some gesneriad enthousiast on this forum, andi am one of them
I ,m growing all kinds of generiads ,hardy /and some tropicals. I recently started with petrocosmea,but allready have some nice species and hybrids.

last week I posted three Petrocosmea species that were flowering for me. Over the weekend this Petrocosmea sericea started to flower, gorgeous blue and very beautiful. Since we have had our first frost on Saturday it is time to protect my lovely Gesneriads.

Not a Petrocosmea but this Gesneriad flowered for me today. This is Primulina tamiana from Vietnam was called Chirita. Hope you like.

I like those small ones 
for me it is the easyest of that genus,from cutting or seeds,you will have them for lifetime.I had many hundreds of them,and tried them outdoors.
It can take temp. near freezing point.

Update:
Seed is now setting and hoping to sow fresh seed in spring.
We had -5c last night and I moved all the plants indoors with heating 7-10c

Michael those are very nice I am still looking for P. begonifolia but I grow the others. Where do you have them while its cold? have you seen how the American growers, grow them in cellars with lighting. Lack of garden space and greenhouses I suppose.
