Schneeglöckchentage 2013 im Oirlicher Blumengarten Botanische Kostbarkeiten erleben

Nettetal. Die Schneeglöckchentage im nordrheinwestfälischen Nettetal haben sich bei Gartenliebhabern einen festen Platz im Terminkalender erobert. Das erste Highlight des Gartenjahres 2013 findet wie in den vergangenen Jahren am letzten Wochenende im Februar im Oirlicher Blumengarten und auf dem Gelände des angrenzenden Hofes statt. Ausgewählte Aussteller aus dem In- und Ausland präsentieren botanische Kostbarkeiten – und natürlich Schneeglöckchen. Denn die Sammelleidenschaft der außergewöhnlich formenreichen Frühblüher steht im Mittelpunkt des Interesses. Namhafte Schneeglöckchengärtnereien aus England sind zum Beispiel hier zum Publikumsmagnet geworden. Begonnen hat die seit Jahren erfolgreiche und einzigartige Veranstaltung auf Initiative des verstorbenen Schneeglöckchensammlers und Gartenenthusiasten Günter Waldorf, Autor des Buches »Schneeglöckchen – Zauber in Weiß« (DVA Verlag). Die Schneeglöckchentage sind ein Muss für botanisch Interessierte, begeisterte Gartenliebhaber und Schneeglöckchenliebhaber.

Experience botanical treasures in the Oirlicher Flower Garden in Nettetal at the 2013 Snowdrop Day
The Snowdrop Days held in the North-Rhine Westphalia area of Nettetal have secured a firm place in the calendar for amateur gardeners. The first garden highlight of 2013, as in previous years, will be on the last weekend in February, in the Oirlicher Flower Garden and  the grounds of the adjacent courtyard. There will be selected exhibitors from home and abroad, presenting botanical treasures - and, of course, Snowdrops. The collecting passion for the rich number of exceptional forms of these early flowers is central to this event.The presence of renowned snowdrop nurseries, in England, for example, have become a popular feature.
This established and successful event arose as the initiative of the late snodrop garden enthusiast and collector, Günter Waldorf, author of "Snowdrops- White Magic".
The Snowdrop Days are a must for botanical enthusiast, avid garden lovers and especially for snowdrop lovers.

The Collection at 127 Stoke Road, Linslade, Leighton Buzzard, Beds LU7 2SR will be having an Open Day on Saturday 23 February 2013, 11 am to 4 pm. No refreshments so bring a flask!

We will of course try to accommodate enthusiasts wishing to visit by alternative prior arrangement especially if they are RICH.

Hagen's talking about his collection under the title Galanthus Gems from Germany. Matt's talking about the greens, green tips, virescents etc, including the latest thinking on the mechanisms involved in how they come about. And Joe's talking about galanthus memorabilia.

Don't think I'll be able to make it.

I have relatives i shall be staying with in the area , so if i can get a ticket and weather permitting i shall be there (My Mum will also be wanting to go too    )

Having seen a talk by Joe about his galanthus memorabilia , there seems to be little he wont collect if it has a snowdrop on    It was a very funny talk !
