Jennie,

I bought Bloomer to the person on the other side of Glen chantry(from the entrance at the end on you're left side, to place next to matt bishop), i also bought ecusson d'or and greenfinch there. Can you say wich seller this was?

How many people attended? Looks like there was loads of room to look at the sellers snowdrops

Ruben - do you mean opposite Glen Chantry up at the far end?  If so that was Richard Bashfield & Valerie Bexley of Woodchippings.  Or do you mean opposite (on other side to) Matt Bishop?  ;D

Not sure how many Mark but once there is a solid line of people at the front of the stall - no one behind can see or reach the plants!  When I got to the Glen Chantry stand there were two rows of people....and even my long arms could not reach.  Short of pushing everyone out of your way (which is very rude) - you cannot see a thing even if you are tall.

At a guess I would say there were 150 people???  Any other guess-timates?

Hi Ruben, welcome to the forum.  I'm glad you did well at the Middleton House sale - it's a long way to travel.  And I'll be in touch by email.

I'm the white-haired guy in the centre of the third photo here https://plantheritage.wordpress.com/ , just to the right of the man in the stripey wool hat.
Almost in Scotland.

Warning: new Forumist's first posting.

From Limerick, Ireland. Have been lurking here for a couple of seasons! Was visiting London this weekend and just happened to end up in Myddelton House.

I was travelling subject to Ryanair hand luggage requirements, so I have developed a personal solution, which I have used for snowdrops and other plants before. On the walk along Turkey Street towards Myddelton House, I identified a tree which would benefit from some extra snowdrop compost; I was armed with sandwich bags and a pair of disposable rubber gloves (no hand washing facilities near the tree!). The pots went for re-cycling. The bag of snowdrops was kept on the windowsill overnight to keep them cool and 24 hours later they are happy in their new home.

Great event; great venue. Nice talking to people in the queue. Nice to meet the dealers when the sales died down. The estimate of 150 seems about right.

For the curious I acquired the following (in no particular order)
John Long
Gal. rizehensis
Magdalen Erskine
Ding Dong
Ailwyn
Lapwing
Augustus (virus free)
Courteenhall
Rodmarton
Wasp.

I hope to be an occasional contributor - not everyday!

Welcome here, John.
I believe I will have the procedure with ryanair few days after the gala.
Thanks for the idea. It seems to be a practical solution.

Welcome Ruben and John.

There is a tree near Nettetal that has a little pile of soil that I left behind.   ;)

Good to hear from you Michael. Yes, you can step outside your door, shout and I should hear you
And yes too about G. Sophie North.

What I gave you were offspring of the one you gave me. I have 3 slightly different G. Sophie Norths. All came from reliable sources. Two are in flower and the third is not yet open.

I'm still on a learning curve with this Forum - 2nd post. So, I'll think about photos of G. Sophie North and put it in the January thread and ask for opinions. Could be a few days - I'll wait for G. Sophie North number 3 to flower.

Hi John,

Great to have you here on the forum. Great to have another Irish person interested in snowdrops and good that you are close to Michael. Looking forward to your posts. Good selection you got in Myddleton House. Hope they all do well for you.
