Here are some pics from a recent visit    Thanks to Hans for some information, expecially on where to find LARGE numbers of the Colchicum.

For botanical people visiting the island I can recommend Elspeth Becket's 'Illustrated Flora of Mallorca', excellent illustrations and very useful.

Superb pictures Kees Jan!! Glad you found so many gems of this island- and fantastic  of pictures Phoenicopterus ruber, doubt I have seen such a nice group here as you saw!

The Lizard is Podarcis lilfordi ssp gigliolii (endemic ssp of Sa Dragonera), Malvacea should be Lavatera maritima, Chenopodiaceae could be Salicornia ramosissima. Think fern is Asplenium marinum.

Here are two mistery plants . The first - with the big leaves - was photographed on the summit of the 2nd highest mountain of Mallorca. The second is common in cultivation Mallorca, it remind me of Campsis, but I'm not sure if it is.

- was photographed on the summit of the 2nd highest mountain of Morocco.

Would it grow on Mallorca I would say Pastinaca lucida - an endemic species of the balearic islands.
Second looks like Pandorea jasminoides (in Alfabia?).

Thanks for the name of the climber, Mandevilla seems to fit quit well.

Here are two more exotic plants, both photographed in a huge garden named 'Botanicactus'... First is a Yucca, the 2nd Chlorisia speciosa.
