Ian Butterfield's Catalogue 2012-13
« on: November 08, 2012, 03:19:34 AM »
Hi,
had another chat with Ian and he agreed that I can put his catalogue on the web. You can find it here.   It's a bit large and slow to load, best copy it to your hard drive. :)

Maggi, thank you. I'm a bit of a dunce when it comes to this particular one. It works easily enough in other systems, but on this forum it seems a little resistant. ;) ;) ;)

Good to see the catalogue although it gets me itching with temptation.  With some reluctance (because I'm always in danger of getting side-tracked), I'm returning to growing Pleiones after a 30+ year break and the wealth of vividly coloured hybrids and new cvs nowadays has me almost on the edge of my seat.  I've started ever so gently with just a few bulbs of the mainstays for this coming year, but I have that feeling of being a 'kid in a candy store', whenever I pore over the various offerings.  Being a typically unsophisticated type, rich, deep colours, large, well-formed flowers on tallish stems really get my attention, although all or most of those qualities together seem to mean £££ bulbs.  It's a good job that you have to order conventionally from the Butterfield catalogue otherwise the visa card would get a severe beating at the wrong side of Christmas  :o

I know the feeling Dave. In fact I'd actually bought some stamps to get a postal copy of the catalogue but Maren kindly put it on here before I sent them off. Like you I recently returned to collecting Pleione after a gap of over a decade. I never stopped growing them but did not buy any new ones until being tempted last year. Have not ordered from Ian yet this year and am unlikely to do so now before his cutoff date.

Anyway, if you want to see the Butterfield catalogue, I have fixed the link in my initial post. It's a bit slow, but not as slow as the Post Office. ;)
