But which Christmas?   I've been getting emails about this for a while and, like so many orchid books, the publication date seems to be going backwards, but here's hoping Santa has something for us both this year!

Thanks for telling us, a definite must have for me. It probably restates much of the wonderful contents of
The Genus Cypripedium by Phil Cribb, but there is just space for one more book (or orchid....) ;) ;)

Its being released in the U.K. earlier than the rest of the world, but if you order it from Kew before its actually published it will be posted to you for free even if you are not based in the U.K..

And from other sites it has a publish date of the 2nd of December.

This new book seems to be very interesting. I know Werner Frosch very well. He is very famous with
Cypripedium in Germany. Twice a year he sells seedlings. The next date is : 3. Febr. 2013
His website (German and English) is:     www.w-frosch.de
Today he told me, that the book is only available in English.

Peter thanks for letting us know about the book. Books aren't my favourite as my brain doesn't hold anything in for long but then again having it to refer to is beneficial. Also there will be some nice pictures of such a wonderful plant.
I go into friends houses and there are shelves of books it amazes me, but then again these folks are the brainy ones  ::) ;D

Thanks for the laugh Maggi  :-*
Cant believe that you never got the snow, we are only a few miles away from you but its like a different world.
Keep warm and eat plenty of chocolate, heard that it is supposed to makes you happy and we need at this time of year. Well thats a good enough excuse to eat it then. Also the extra weight that I put on this time of year is like your own insulation ;D

We had snow in the city, Angie,  though not much. The leaves  which are getting deeper and more yucky every  day ( just never had the chance to get them lifted yet) were thick with semi-ice yesterday and really horrible.   Now of course, it's just dark and wet - seems like being indoors with a book is a good idea..... if I could tear myself away from the forum! ;D

I'm glad I'm not the only one who hasn't yet shifted the fallen leaves. If you and Ian haven't yet done it, I feel so much better. ::)

It's not a case of Kew still having it.  It has not yet been published.  Kew books are implying the end of this month, but despite Amazon saying it was published on October 1, they are now just saying they will notify their customers when it is available.  Can't say I'm overly impressed with this.
p.s. Can't believe how many times I've edited this post so as not to say anything which might upset the lawyers!!
