Our search to see Slovak plants
« on: December 20, 2012, 12:50:16 PM »
Me and my wife start searching for Slovak plants. And here are some pictures from our trips. I'm search Orchidaceae, but also our other plants are interesting and beautiful.  ;)

First photos are from Zobor,at Nitra (26.5.2012).
The most interesting part is the so-called forested steppe.

Many thanks.
Yes i know, the names missing. I search titles.

Plant the first picture I do not know her name. The second is Dianthus nitidus. Dianthus have many, many species. Find the correct name is difficult.

I agree Dictamus (Fraxinelle) albus is beautiful plant. We were surprised that we found such a beautiful plant. Grown on top of a small rock in the woods, where I had to climb.

More photos will be added today, will bring you to the east of Slovakia.  ;)

Maggi there was some show of flowers?  :)

I have "new" pictures from the trip for geocaches. (I play geocaching)
It was a climb up the hill Žibrica near Nitra (22.4.2013).
We found a lot of beautiful plants and some endemic species.  ;)

Thlaspi jankae (endemic plant of Zobor)

More photos of the hill Žibrica.

There certainly was! In Prague there was a wonderful display in the grounds of a lovely old church by the local rock gardeners ( with a Scotsman in support- Davie Sharp )  After attending the 2nd International Czech R. G. Conference we visited many fascinating Czech private gardens.  An excellent visit  8)

I have read a little about geocaching- it sounds like fun- and a great way to see some good flowers!!! :)

After a long time again part of Slovakia. It is an area called salt marshes. There's a land where the precipitated salts and minerals from groundwater.
