What I would like to know is this . How come people can travel halfway round the world to arrive in the NZ mountains on a predetermined day and get perfect weather yet when us locals plan a trip away it nearly always rains .

Yes . following in the tradition of Harry and Hanni Jans , Jim and Jean Wylie managed to get a calm and sunny day on top of the Old Man Range . Probably will not happen again until 2016
