Plants I've seen in Spain
« on: December 24, 2012, 05:17:34 PM »
I'm in Spain for a month, mainly to escape the cold winter from where we live, but also there to look for plants and minerals.
A lot of the Spanish plants are unknown to me. I hope to get more information here. If possible, I try to gather seeds from the plants I see. I'm now in the region Valencia/Alicante, but hope to go up higher in the mountains later.

The pictures are not always clear. It's hard to make pictures in full sun.

This is nr. 1: It smells like Thyme.

Edited to show better pictures.

nr. 12 Solanum?
Have no picture of the ripe fruit (orange). Noticed the fruits turn from green to orange and than to black.

I googled this one, because I have Fumaria officinalis. Mine in Belgium is completely purple, this one is white with a purple end, but googling it, it is also F. officinalis.  So now I'm confused.

This one is growing everywhere, like a weed, but I like it. Hope I can grow it in my zone 6 as an annual.

Does there exist a country near the sea without this weed ??  :o
