Some of my favourites amonghst all my bulbs, the beautifull iris rosenbachiana, below is one referred to as "form 1", very closely related to rosenbachiana darwas strain, and secondly is rosenbachiana Tovil Dara, or Tovil Dora ( i have seen both spellings used, so I am not sure which name applies to the plant, but it is from near the town of Tovil dora in south eastern Tajikistan)like most spring bulbs they started flowering 2-3 weeks later than usual here. the last flower on rosenbachiana form 1 is still in bloom, and as they generally produce several flowers per bulb, it has now been in flower for 5 weeks, with their excellent perfume!Interesting to see iris nicolai under snow. I have read that it is slightly tender, and sometimes flowers in january, but as the puicture shows, it doesent seem to mind the cold and snow?Pontus
