Why would I want to use this page? Well, there are any number of reasons. Your might want to find the name of certain seed by searching on its number, handy if you have lost your seed list. It may be you want to list all of a certain Genus without having to trawl though the entire seed list. You might only know part of the name of a plant and wish to list all the possibilities in order to help you determine the full, correct name. You might just want to list the entire seed list on your screen! Below you will find two sets of boxes each with a Query button. Listing an entry by its number The first has a box named Number. Enter a seed list number in here, click Query and the result will appear in the Results Area below. If the number does not exist (for example the number given is higher than the highest entry in the seed list, or rubbish is typed), no result will be listed. Listing an entry by its name The second has boxes named Number, Genus, Species, Variety / Sub-species You can enter the details of the plant(s) you want to search for in here then click Query. The results will appear in the Results Area below. If no entry exists that matches your search criteria, no result will be listed. A few important points here - obviously spelling must be correct. Also you can use the SQL "wildcard" which is % this will be taken as search for any, but NOT search for a blank. You can also search on part names. That is, if you type cor% in the Genus box, every plant genus that starts with these 3 letters - Corydalis, etc will be displayed for Genus. Remember though that results will also depend on the other boxes and usually these must contain something too, text or another %, the variety box is often left blank though Here is an example that will hopefully make this clearer Genus box = gent% Species Box = ver% Variety Box - do not type anything in here i.e. leave blank" 1 result : 1737 Gentiana verna Another example Genus box = gent% Species Box = ver% Variety Box =% 3 results 1738 Gentiana verna angulosa 1739 Gentiana verna balcanica 1740 Gentiana verna oschtenica The searches are not case sensitive.
